The Making A Difference (M.A. D.) award has been bestowed annually since 2015. It honors alumni who have made significant contributions to their community and/or in their career by sharing their time, talents and actionable dedication to their fields of expertise and areas of passion. In the past, the award has highlighted the accomplishments of UMBA in the areas of Law, Education, Social Action and the Arts, but is open to nominations in any field. ow that our black alumni are truly apart of the Michigan difference by affecting change.
In order to be recognized for the “M.A.D” award, nominees MUST BE recognized as a graduate from any school, college or division of the University of Michigan. Undergraduate, Graduate or Doctoral degrees are all accepted.
Nominees for the Making A Difference Award must meet all three (3) of the listed requirements:
1) Graduate from any school, college or division of the University of Michigan
2) Has made significant contributions to their community
3) Deserves acknowledgement as embodying the spirit of distinction that brings pride to the University of Michigan Black Alumni
